Our high quality art workshops are loved by teachers and children across Manchester

Our art workshops can make a difference to your child, they can make a difference to your school. Our workshops look to famous and contemporary artists and we introduce children to exciting new tools and techniques not usually on offer in Primary Education.

It's widely accepted that a child's level of cultural awareness is a huge indicator of how well they are able to succeed in life and engage in wider society.

We help children, parents and schools by providing opportunity for children to engage in creativity. This especially applies to Year 3-6 where art features less in the curriculum.
Art equipment is expensive for schools to buy, it's also not a priority for many schools with pressure for STEM and often art leads are running lessons as a secondary role in an unfamiliar subject.

Art Table has become a reliable after school club service for many schools and we help teachers build their art provision.

Also the wellbeing benefits of art for children are invaluable and provide a necessary means of communication for some, especially for those who are not sporty or academic. Our workshops attract a lot of ADHD and Autistic children as well those who simply enjoy being creative.

7 ways art can benefit your child

  1. Relaxation - Studies have shown that making art decreases stress levels and lowers feelings of anxiety therefore it can massively improve a child's mental health. - it makes you feel great and offers moments of relaxation.
  2. Art promotes self esteem and self expression. Art allows a certain amount of freedom that children may not experience with school lessons or other activities. This means they are free to express themselves how they would like.
  3. Art contributes to the development of fine motor skills & neural connections. By using paint brushes, pencils and other art tools children can develop their dexterity. This is beneficial for children who have underdeveloped motor skills.
  4. Art Promotes Creativity!
  5. Problem solving - When children participate in art classes they have to learn the art of problem solving, making decisions, coming to conclusions, second guessing decisions and evaluating results. This promotes confidence and learning to trust the decisions they make.
  6. Art allows children to understand the world around them as well as themselves. Learning about key artists and movements helps children understand the importance of culture and its significance.
  7. Art allows for connection - It is beneficial for children to be surrounded by like minded people who can enjoy and connect with each other.

The afterschool workshops are usually a cost to the parent, however some Salford schools might want to use pupil premium to fund a class of children attending for a half-term as part of looking after their wellbeing or for other PHSE purposes.
