Meet the founder

A passionate creative and mum of three children. 

I remember when art wasn't cool, but it was the one thing that made me come alive. I chose the art room over the common room at high-school, it was my safe space, for me & all the other waifs & strays. I remember meeting my careers' advisor & sharing my passion for Art and being met with a disappointing dead end - "There's no money in being an artist, look elsewhere".

If only she knew there is something far greater. In art there is curiosity, discovery & expression. There is identity, meaning & purpose…..and joy! I'm so glad I get to watch this in every workshop I get to facilitate. I hope I can be part of the change that takes place in art education, for my children, those I work with & many others like them.

I have over 20 years experience in art and design and am all about creative thinking and solving problems differently. I have a degree in Design Futures and my training and expertise has resulted in a vision to inspire the next generation of artists, designers, engineers and creative thinkers. I am also passionate advocate of fine art opening our eyes to the beauty around us, raising our cultural awareness.

I have seen the benefit of art in my own children's development, and my own mental health and see the value "making" brings to a person's wellbeing. 

Art Table was birthed when I had a dream of people popping over to my house, sitting around my table and making art together. People of all ages, making, chatting and sharing food and stories - its the community benefit of art!

That's how it started. Now we run after school workshops in schools and community hubs across Salford, Sale and beyond and are embracing the elderly, adult workshops and more. If you can dream it, you can do it.
